In need of a new filter for my 98 B18C R.. Buddy of mine is running this on his.. I just wanted to get some opinions and see if any of you all had first hand experience.
P.S. - I searched.. found a thread or two and one with a dyno sheet, but my main questions are..
Did Blox knock this off of another company or what?
Is there a better filter out there, If so.. Please provide your input.

I have a BPI stack from a few years ago and I just recently bought the Blox filter just cuz it was like $20 bucks or somethin. I know K&N makes one to fit, but I dunno if you're gonna notice a power diff. between the two. I haven't used my filter yet, but it's shaped, constructed, and "feels" just like the K&N's I've had in the past

Alright, good deal.. Where could I look at the BPI stack's?
So this would be a fairly decent buy?
Thanks man.
Fo' sho! This is where I got mine: http://www.bpinitiatives.com/?gclid=...FQ10gwodQlAuDQ
Thats obviously gonna be your more expensive route, but honestly...I don't see how there could be any performance diff. between the Blox and BPI setup.

at first glance the bpi looks like a better deal if you hold in high regard K&N filters.
How can we be sure the blox filters can be cleaned like the K&N filters?

People will always claim the origonal is the superior. It's a piece of plastic, and both are shaped the same way. I don't see how this could get complicated haha. Brian was the first to mass produce one for us, so thats cool.
Indeed, I doubt the difference is worth mentioning. I would boil it down to the consumers concern over having a blox filter vs. a K&N filter more than any of the other aspects.
Or here's this for an alternative. Support the R&D of BPI and keep him in business by buying his stack for the $36 price, get a blox filter.
Just the BPI stack:

Filter on ebay:

The blox/filter combo runs about $60 on ebay. The BPI stack filter runs about $95
Meet somewhere in the middle with the BPI stack and the blox filter.

True I'm over thinking it, gains would be minimal most likely
Aem makes a filter that fits as well in their dry flow series. And they are easy to clean just spray with hose and let dry then reinstall. No having to deal with oil for the filter
or you can go vibrant/kandn. although i do believe it ends up being the same as BPI.
and as stated before besides the filter the actual gain is likely the same.
