Trailing Arm Bushing
Hey guys,
I searched but no answer was found.
My left rear trailing arm bushing is shot and giving me a nice clunk and rattle when driving and hitting bumps. I also believe it's causing some "floating" in the rear of the car too.
Anyways, I went to the Dealer and they don't sell the bushing seperate. Just the wole arm, for a nice $206CDN +taxes.
Anyone have any other suggestions or routes you went for this repair?
Any help is appreciated.
Edit: This is for a 1997 Acura 2.2CL
Thanks

Not sure which rear lower arm you need, but the most expensive is $125 US.

Or Rock Auto?
I'm sure they have it in stock. I bought my bushing separately when I had to replace a bushing that was shot on the passenger side rear lower control for the rear strut bolt.
Could you order online and have it shipped?

If anyone can call their local Acura dealer and ask for it, it's the Driver's side rear lower trailing arm bushing I need.

The red circled part is the bushing location. I don't need the whole arm. JUST the bushing. No one lists that part seperate as far as I can tell
No sir! That looks to be a rear upper control arm bushing.
If you are in a tight spot financially. You could try removing the swing arm and drilling a few holes in the old bushing and then filling the holes and rest of the bushing opening with 3M window weld. Kind of like what the DIY guys do for engine mounts.

I am in a crappy spot financially though. Ugh, I might just suck it up and replace the ONE side. Which I would rather not do.
Wil this work from a 1997 Accord EX?

That's a different bushing. The most common bushing failure on trailing arms is the bushing on the very front of the trailing arm. This bushing is located underneath the rear passenger seat area, not at the lower control arm. Trailing arm bushings aren't sold separately because they're installed at a precise angle that would throw the car's alignment off if installed incorrectly.
This is the bushing that usually goes bad:
I Just found Febest ... HAB-028 (front bushing) and HAB-101 (small rear bushings).
These are sold on Amazon and EBay.

No idea on the quality -- of German origin and now HQed in Florida ... I would assume the manufacturing is outsourced.
But if the parts are as good as Moog (which I believe is also outsourced) then I would think it's worth a shot. For the price (14 + 9 + 9 = $32) compared with purchase of a complete OEM trailing arm (~$130) it definitely seems worth a try.

I would trust Amazon first.
