I've never seen one. I think you would have to custom fabricate it. I can't really see any advantage to a one-piece rear.

I've seen 1 piece front/rear ends on riced out show cars. Never seen 1 for an NSX though. I can't really think of any functional advantage of having 1.

well i figure it would save weight and if the rear could just lift off it would be easier to get at the engine. it seems like the people who can afford to modify an NSX replace close to every body panel anyway so why not. i think it'd make the car that much more exotic.

It's not going to save weight over the aluminum panels unless you use dry carbon, which is really really expensive. And, it won't give you much more access to the engine because the bulkhead for the trunk would still be in the way.

good info. thanks. for those reasons there wouldn't really be a market for such a part.

He added hilarity to an otherwise useless thread.

do you have any idea how much work it takes to make a composite part, especially one of that size and complexity? Just making the tooling for that would take an enormous amount of time. Lets say you got the tooling down. . . then pull a part from it. HOPE to god everything lines up and fits within a reasonable tolerance. K, again suppose the part fits and you take your NSX (with your awesome new one piece front and rear end) to the track to test it out. Since its one piece on little hit on the rear bumper will mean the ENTIRE rear end will need to be replaced. Then its back to laying up a part, which will take another enormous amount of time and money. . . .

Since they do it for other riced out cars it doesn't sound as impossible as you make it sound. Although the bigger issue IMO is the number of NSX owners out there that would buy such a part. They probably produced more civics in one year then the entire life cycle of NSX's. So the number of potential ricers is going to be extremely low.
