Well, I'm back again. The car died again. Turns out the problem was not the main fuel pump relay. The mechanic at the garage thinks the problem is the fuel injector resistor. He can tap the relay when the car dies and it will restart. From what I've read they don't normally go bad. I can order a used one off Ebay for $25. Any comments would be appreciated?
