Default AS1 S2000, metal widebody, etc, build thread

Turning this into a build thread... just starting from the beginning and skipping 95% of the details. Gone through like 60 sets of wheels in 2+ years.

January 2009

February 2009
Coilovers

February 2009
New wheels (Stich Gulf)

August 2009 (Nisei)
Color change, pulled fenders, new wheels (HRE 540), Wilwood BBK, AP2 front, Mugen lip, Nitrous, Audio, etc

October 2009
Hardtop, new wheels (19" Work Meister S1), few suspension upgrades and many other wheels in between

October 2009
Rebarreled Mugen M7 amongst other wheels

November 2009
JLine SDMSL2, OEM front lip

December 2009
New motor (33k miles)

January 2010
Back on the M7's, painted front lip, reshaped front fenders

February 2010 (WekFest)
Work Rezax II, first outrageous setup... 18x11.5 +19/18x10.5 +19, glow in the dark faces, J's Racing sideskirts

March 2010
Car was impounded (suspended license due to Failure to Appear... was on vacation)

April 2010 (FormulaD, Long Beach)
Back on the M7's.

May 2010 (Eibach annual meet)
Leon Hardiritt Ordens

June 2010
Parted the car out, put it on mag blue TE37's and Neuspeed springs... not a bad look, got it ready for sale.

July 2010
Broke up with the g/f, bad month, lost interest in the car.

August 2010 (Nisei)
Last minute KBee coilover install, Junction Produce Scara, stupid poke/ran out of time to fit them... 18x11 -1, 18x10 -1, Sparco seat, etc

September 2010
Weds Kranze Shoki

September 2010 (S2000 Homecoming II)
Custom air suspension, Safety21 6 point roll cage, dual exhaust... laying frame

New front bumper

October 2010 - December 2010
New all metal widebody, full respray, radiused fenders, customized sideskirts, new custom rear bumper, new wheels (Shelby Series 1 - 18x12 rear, 18x10 front)

January 2011
New coilovers... Zeal Function B6, custom revalved, custom spring rates

February 2011 (WekFest)
Relipped my Leon Hardiritt Ordens, new suspension parts, and more
Rear alignment

Front alignment

Drove 500 miles to WekFest and another 500 miles back. Killed my rear tires.

Got lucky and won this

This is how the car looked

Painted engine bay (picture taken during intake reinstall)

April 2011

Shelby wheels back on, new custom quad tipped straight through exhaust

April 2011 (FormulaD, Long Beach)
Custom 3-piece reverse lip BBS LM's utilizing 19" faces, repainted canards and front lip

18x10.75 +22 all around (25mm spacer in the rear... effective -3)

Some detail shots...

My authentic J's Racing sideskirts, which I had cut to match the curvature of the front bumper.

The canards were sprayed black with a matte clear while the lip is a combination of gloss black (top) and matte black (sides and bottom).

Radiused fenders

Rear... looks kind of wimpy with only an 18x10.75 wheel. It's much meaner looking with the 18x12's that I had before.

My ideal wheel specs are 18x12 +13 rear with a 285/30 and 18x10 +13 front with a 225/40. The car is for sale for $13k (LM's not included).

Exterior
Color change to Verde Metallizzato off 2009 Maserati Quattroporte
Radius / widened OEM fenders (radiused and widened 3cm)
Radius / widened quarter panels (radiused and widened 2.5cm)
Shaved hood, fenders, trunk, antenna
VIS Amuse widebody front bumper (modified)
J's Racing sideskirts (modified)
Garage Defend style rear bumper (heavily modified)
Rick's smoked headlight diffusers
AP2 taillights

Engine
39k miles on swapped AP1 engine
Injen cold air intake
K&N high flow air filter
T1R 63mm test pipe
Custom 63mm straight through exhaust with quad 90mm rolled megaphone tips
Greddy oil catch tank
ACT heavy duty clutch kit
Comptech lightweight flywheel
Innovative Race 85A motor mounts
Innovative Race transmission mounts

Suspension
Zeal Function B6 coilovers
J's Racing RCA/SS Kit rear
Megan toe arms rear
SPC camber joint front
SPC camber joint rear

Wheels:
Shelby Series One wheels
18x12 +23 255/40
18x10 +22 225/40

BBS LM
18x10.75 -3 235/40
18x10.75 +22 225/40

I'm used to driving this low, the only nuisance I ever ran into was going to and from WekFest. My buddy who went with me weighs 250lbs so I could only fill 4 gallons at a time (else, the old exhaust would drag on the ground) and I would easily take out a line of reflectors each time I changed lanes. The San Francisco trip ripped a hole in my resonator which is part of the reason why I went full unrestricted this time around.

Oh man, that sounds annoying imho. Not into the wheel set up, at all. But I can appreciate the time and money spent.

the car looks terrible. I'm not sure why all of that time and money went into the car just to run that much camber.

I'm glad the car is for sale, it'd be nice to see someone put some functionality back into it.

and you drive like a real *******.

Yup, that's what straight pipes sound like. It's fun for about 5 mins.

I want to appreciate this style so much, but the rear camber just looks horrible. Yes it is the style you are going for and within that style it seems to be right on par with the others. I guess to each their own.

no "hatin" going on here, just as you and many others have expressed their opinions of this vehicle as it being nice, we have expressed our opinions of it being ridiculous. Why is it that when one person likes something and someone else doesnt it has to be "hatin" the bandwagon doesnt constitute whats right, its just a bandwagon.

If the owner likes it then good for him, it shouldnt matter what the rest think, whether we like it or hate it he should be doing it for himself, which im sure he is.

and its HATING, you took the time to add a ' to the end of hatin why not just use the correct final letter of the word. it wont take anymore keystrokes.
