theres a 89 civic for sale near me for 400 bucks but just needs a starter motor and an alternatir..any idea on how much this would cost? and which alternators and starters are compatible?

the starter and alternator depend on which brand the car came with, theres 2 available, ones more expensive than the other although i think u have to put the same brand back on for some reason.
theres the nippondenso and the mitsuba

wrecking yards are full of that stuff... a D series alternator and starter should be easy to find cheap, as for brand, im not convinced, but both should be available somewhere...

 

I got my b16a alternator off a guy on here for 50 bucks!
