94 Integra GSR engine/cabin ECU wiring question
I recently purchased a 94 Integra GSR sedan and was told that everything in it was stock.
Upon running the vehicle I realized that the secondaries were not kicking in and the wiring from the ECU to the Engine bay looked to have been tampered with.
It looks like the CYP P-side input (orange), TDC ground P-side input (orange/blue), CKP P- CKP ground P-side input (green/blue), Knock Sensor (Red/Blue) and the Primary Heated o2 sensor (White/Red) have another un-insulated wire that is within a larger grey wire. The uninsulated wire is spliced into the LG2-Logic Ground (Brown/Black) wire in the cabin. The uninsulated wire appears to have been cut in the engine bay.
Here are some pictures to assist with the description.

I need to know if the un-insulated wires are factory and if so does everything look ok?
I am having issues with the secondaries not functioning and i think the issues lies with my ECU since i located a JUN ebay chip inside.
I am just trying to find out if I need to look further into the wiring and if it appears to have been tampered with. I dont have a factory GSR to compare to.

And just before any one asks, Yes the CEL comes on before starting the vehicle.
No I am not throwing any codes right now.
And yes the vehicle revs all the way to redline.
I think the "Jun" ebay chip has something to do with the secondaries not working, just trying to figure out the wiring.

And yes the Jun ebay chip is garbage... nothing I can do about that now.
Im in the process of trying to locate a factory Obd1 P72 ECU

The uninsulated wires are noise shields are are grounded at one end only. One of the ground points is on top of the thermostat cover (for the engine wiring harness). Grounding them at both ends can set up 'ground loops' which can make you think your electrical system has a poltergeist.
So - if it's working it is probably Ok. Looks like they'd pulled the wrap off, perhaps re-using or customizing another harness.
If you get the Electrical Troubleshooting Manual they show the shields in the schematics.
Good luck
