Ok, so i've been noticing that my 92 CX hatch idles really low at times and even dies every once in a while. I've checked for codes and there are none. It was reving up and down like crazy so i cleaned the IACV and it solved the problem. Now it just seems to idle really low and nearly die every time i drive it. I noticed today that the plug wire on the 2nd cylinder wont stay on the valve cover all the way. It doesnt pop off while driving it just....doesnt go on all the way with the engine off. You push it down in the cylinder and you just watch it rise back up. And it takes no effort to take it off, it just comes right out. The v-cover gasket is fine, the plugs are dry, the plug wires are dry, and the plugs are completely tightened. Im thinkin its just sh*tty plug wires but i thought id get some second opinions
I had the same problem with my Civic. One of my plug wires would just pop off the spark plug while I was driving. You may try to squeeze the little metal cap inside the plug wire to tighten it up. If that don't work, replace the wires. That is what I had to do. Good luck, T
We had the oil leak and replaced the gaskets. Ours were doing the same thing. One thing I noticed was the new wires would "snap" into place. The old ones just slid on. It stopped when putting the new wires on and ran a LOT better.
x2 on the new wires. The wires on mine did that when i bought the car, swapped them out and now they just snap into place. If it was me, while your are at it, change the dissy cap, rotor and possibly plugs (plugs tend to be changed more often, but people forget about the rest of it) if they are old.
