when i first bought my em1 i felt it pretty quick & the rpms will climb up quick now i feel it slow like if something is holding it back and rpms take longer to climb up. i just replaced my spark plugs, dist cap & rotor. still need to change spark plug wires and fuel filter. i have a bad 02 sensor that i need to replace is that the problem? is there anything else i need to replace?

A bad 02 sensor can make it feel sluggish.
Alway start by fixing CEL codes.

Be carefull on the lower bolt on the fuel filter. They are very very well known for a being a PITA. It also is quite easy to round off.

I had so much trouble, I almost said F it. I ended up using a crows foot and that did the trick after about a hour of fighting it.

How many miles are on it? Is it burning oil? Loosing compression?

I agree with Mcvtec, fix the o2 first.

a line wrench works the best.

Actually NO, they aren't always the best.

I woudn't have told him to use a crows foot unless it worked.

OP, that really isn't many miles at all. I am suprised to here you are haveing issues with such low miles.

I was going to say check the throttle cable, but forgot.

Good luck with getting this fixed.

Actually they do work good. I have a set if wrenches that I've only used to change out the fuel filter and I never once had much of an issue with that lower bolt. The ones that I have are offset so you have to keep flipping the wrench over, yes it's a little time consuming but it works.

Since I've had my 97 I've replaced it about 4-5 times already and I also just replaced it on my 99. I have always used purolator fuel filters and never had any problems.

I never said they don't work well, what I said was they aren't always the best.

I tried every wrench I could find. ( My dad has TONS of wrenchs) Noithing worked. The last option was a crows foot which did the job.

I was only giving the OP another idea of what he could use, if he runs into the same problem I had.

OEM fuel filters here.
