Default b16 intake manifold vacuum hose

i was wondering if anyone could help me out with where the vacuum line goes on the b16 manifold. if i leave it un plugged, the car runs and drives on 3 cylinders but if i plug it up the car dies. i have no idea where it goes. i was informed that this is an older model manifold and that the newer ones dont have this...not sure...its the vacuum that is located in the middle of the manifold.

here a picture of it. its the one with the blue hose coming out of it.

any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Can't find any B16 that looks like that. How long has it been this way? Where are you plugging this up to? When the car dies does it throw a CEL? Does it throw a CEL at any time the car is running?

hmmm im guessing i dont have a pcv valve since i read that only vtec motors have them? i have a b16 head mounted onto a b18b block. i read that you have to drill a hole and attach a nipple to the back of the block and have a catch can in between? can anyone verify this?!

heres the link http://honda.hybrids.jp/b20tech/b20-pcv.shtml

a b16 is a vtec motor. all motors have a pcv. you actually defined where its located about 5 posts up.

sounds like you started a project you never should have gotten into.

right all motors have a pcv but non vtec motors such as the b18 which i have has it on the valve cover. since i went ls/vtec b18/b16 i dont have a port any longer. therefore i dunno where it goes lol. you are right when you said i started a project i shouldnt have. haha i just connected it to the valve cover....works for now i guess

That's a EM1 intake. Tried to look at pictures of mine but couldn't see where it goes from the pictures.

Could it be to the IACV? (Not the one with the red ring, thats the purge and not where this connects )

I can give it a better chek when I arrives from home.

^^ yes. it goes to the pcv. the small nipple on the back towards the drivers side is for cruise control.
