Took my Eunos on a road trip of the Scottish Highlands
Me and my brother, Chris went on a camping/driving trip
we left Fife in the MX5 on monday morning around 8am and headed out to stirling, then on to Callander for steak and haggis pies. then on to Crianlarich, Fort william, Applecross (camped overnight), Sheildaig, Achnasheen, Ullapool, Lochinver, Durness (camped here), Thurso, Dunnet head, John 'ogroats, Wick, Dornoch, Dingwall, Inverness, Cannich (found a great campsite here), Nairn, Forres, Grantown on spey, Ballater, Braemar, Pitlochry then back down the A9/M90 to Dunfermline!
car says we've done just under 1500kms, without working it out i think we used roughly 3 tanks of fuel, £120-130 of fuel.
heres the map

heres some pics
Arriving at Bealach na ba around 2pm on Monday

Half way up to Applecross

Leaving Applecross on Tuesday morning we stopped at a place called 'Sand' and went down onto the beach

once we got to the other end of the beach there was no way up excepet to climb, UGH, we made it eventually!

Then we moved on to Lonbain where there is a row of old crofts, one still has the roof on it and was alledgedly last lived in in the 80s

this is the interior

met these guys on the road

some more photos of the coastal road heading north out of Applecross

You can see Raasay on the right and Skye behind that

looking over to the Isle of Rhona

I think this was taken on a stop just north of Lochinver

The scenery at Kyleskew

After leaving Durness on the Wednesday morning we found this beach on the road out

the road we had to travel to come past Tongue

At the most northern point of the UK Mainland, Dunnet head

then at John O'groats

Looking out to Stroma

and thats it, we didnt really stop that much after we hit the A99/A9
would like to go back to Durness area in the better weather

Great road trip and great brg roadster!
That beach at Durness seems to be really pristine, I wonder if decent surfing waves ever break there...
I can't wait to take my next road trip in the s2000, hopefully through the southern california/arizona desert during spring bloom, with a final destination of flagstaff arizona and the surrounding forests/valleys/sedona/etc.
edit: I found a pic of durness on a good surfing day.
