alight well the weather was bad today on my way to work and the road i take has probably about 4 to 5 inches of rain...anyways i was taking it slow and all of a sudden my car starts stalling.i give it a little gas and still nothing then it kicks in normal.i thought it was just to rain but after work the skys cleared and it was still acting up,could i have bad injectors?or distributor?

the car is a 98 hatch with 98 integra motor and its all stock,anyone have any idea?thanks

 

No cold air intake? You couldve sucked in some water, another thing is moisture in the distributor could cause it to short out and stall the engine

 

CEL codes?

 

i got a short ram intake and no CEL....ill ride through all gears but once in awhile itll stall for acouple of seconds then ride normal

 

Are you sure the CEL is working? Without even a CEL diagnosing a totally random issue will be difficult. When was the last time you did a tune up? Change air filters? Check the distributor cap for moisture?

 

yes my CEL works,my when injector clip comes loose it turns on...well i checked my distributor cap and i found a little water so i dried it out and well see from there thanks

 

today i drove the car to work and it ran fine then half way there it started acting up again....this time on 1st gear it stalls,i shift to 2nd it stalls,i shift to 3rd its normal.i got a new cap and rotor,blew out my dizzy,and still the same problem....my CEL is on now and the car was kinda shakey then it went away but the previous owner ran bigger injectors and said he had to trim some plastic off the clips thats why the CEL goes on sometimes...idk but when the CEL goes on i mess with the clips and it turns off....anyone with a solution this thing is driving me crazy!

Get the right injectors for the engine unless the ECU is chipped/mapped to handle them bigger.

 

he put the stock injectors back on b4 selling the car to me,could it be that i soaked up some water through my short ram intake?iv changed my spark plugs,cap and rotor and still the same thing.when i changed the cap and rotor i saw what seemed to be water residue inside the cap can it be my dizzy?

 

why hasn't anyone in this thread mentioned an electrical issue?

Because the OP didn't mention anything about hacked up injectors/wiring until now. That's probably the cause. But since he cannot pull a CEL code everybody's just guessing.

 

the only CEL code was the fuel injectors but all i need to do is mess with the clip a little and it turns off.....BUT...it rarely happends and the "stalling" didnt occur till a few days ago
