i have a 99 ls which is the year where they started using crank angle sensors on the oil pump. jdm motors dont have crank angle sensors so instead of swaping my 200k mile ls oil pump with my 60k mile b20 oil pump couldnt i just use a 96-98 ecu or would i need a different harness too?

 

Search for CKF bypass or crank position sensor bypass (here, and/or google).

You can trick the system into using the signals from the distributor and avoid harness/ECU issues.
