D.I.Y Replacing Shifter Cables DC5 (Hybrid Racing for me)
**I will be updating this with installing Hybrid Racing Cables once they come in the mail. but I sold my stock cables so I need to ship them out right away**
This was very easy. You just need to take apart a bunch of parts lol
First thing is to undo the cotter pins holding the bushings in place. I actually already had them undone so I don't have a photo... but you should be able to figure that out lol
Next you'll want to take off the clips holding the cables in place

Then slide the cables backwards and out

Now we will head under the car and start undoing the brackets holding them in place. All the nuts are 10mm
here are the first two

Then you need to take off the 3 10mm nuts holding on the catalytic converter heat shield

Once that is removed you will see one more support bracket for the cables

remove those bolts and you'll be able to see and free the gasket/rubber plug going into the interior

NOW lets go inside.
*NOTE: My interior has ITR parts, Stock center piece is extremely similar**
Pull the cigarette lighter piece out. Just pry it with a flathead screw driver

Now unbolt the two bolts holding the center console you'll see them after you remove the cigarette socket.
Now take off your shift **** (just unscrew it)

The pull up and out the center shift boot piece to expose the shifter

Now slide your seats forward and pull the two back screws

and pull out the center piece completely

Now take off the cotter pin inside

and pull off the retaining clip like from the engine bay

then twist out this big black clip

and I had to unscrew the other cable

and now pull your cables threw the hole!

Now time to install the news ones. If you are running stock line replacements just do the reverse.

My new Ballar Hybrid Racing Cables! Thank you HR!!

So first thing I did was put the grommet back on

Then slid the cable up and into the car. From there I attached them to the mount points and started securing them in

and put the foam thing back in

then went under the car. I put the support bracket back in and pushed the grommet into place

then the heat shield

then easily made my way up to the top of the transmission and installed the other ends!

Easy breezie! And wow are these things stiff compared to stock. I can't wait for the car to be driving!!
