dashboard light trouble
Hi, I just installed a new pioneer MVH-8200 in my 99 accord and now my dash board doesn't light up (speedometer and tachometer back-light) when i turn on my headlights. all my other lights work fine and my check engine and drive lights still work i think i checked the right fuse and it looks good if anyone can give me any ideas i would greatly appreciate it i can also give more info if needed
Thank-you
Thank-you
Pull the HU, [Pioneer unit] and check the red/black, [illumination] lead in the stock radio harness, make sure it is not shorting out, check illumination fuse. 94
i found the blown fuse and replaced it and i redid all the connections and the light is still not coming on i put the stock radio back in and it worked so i think there is something wrong with my wiring.
What fuse was blown, name of fuse location and size of fuse?
There should be a red/black, [illumination] lead in the stock radio harness/plug, it will be an orange or orange/white on the adapter plug.
I understand the dash lights on a 99 Honda Accord are somehow controlled by the left multiplex unit, I understand there was a recall on the left multiplex unit on 2000 Accords because of a dash light problem.
There could also be a problem with the "Dash Lights Brightness Controller", pull it out and tell me how many leads and their colors. 94
