having low oil pressure at idle but only after its nice and warmed up. the oil light flickers with the idle which is low almost stalled on me a few times.

from what i'v been able to find out just based on a few Google searches it sounds like a bad oil pump

what i need to know is what am i getting myself into?

and do my symptoms sound like a bad oil pump?

 

have u tryed a diff type of oil weight ? or what weight are u running

 

5W30 only Haven't tried anything different

 

clogged oil pick up? the coating in my oil pan deteriorated and clogged the screen on the pick up...cleaned it out and has been fine since

 

had the same problem...turned out my bearings were shot. id say while you are in there, platigage just to make sure.

 

I got under the teg on Sunday and figured it out. I had dented my oil pan pushing it into my oil pick up. Got a new pan and it seems to be running fine now. I was so relived that it was such a simple fix

 

I have this same problem, did you change your oil pick up also?

 

no i did not i just kinda bent my pick up back into place
