Icon3 Car has laggy acceleration...

I have a obd2 00 GSR motor. Has Skunk2 intake mani AEM fuel rail and regulator, AEM Trutime cam gears DC sports headers, gutted ls cat (on there for now) new test pipe hasnt came in yet, and 2.5" tanabe hypermedallion exhaust. Since its an ls cat it doesnt have a place for the 2nd o2 sensor my only CEL is that.. So I was wondering what else could be the problem? I just changed my oil and spark plugs.. Starts fine and idles fine just laggy when I accelerate...

without the rear o2 in the fuel trims will be off. the missing o2 is a cat monitor. maybe dumping to much fuel under acceleration

was it tuned for the turbo? Turbos pull a lot more fuel then NA. If its tuned for a turbo and its now NA and not retuned then it would run rich no matter what.

it was ran off an FMU.. So is there a way of adjusting the AEM fuel reg.? Or should I just go back to the stock fuel rail and reg? cause I don't think I'll be boosted again for awhile.

so no thoughts about replace the cat with the correct one? so if the rear cat monitor isnt connected, how would you get your trims correct? by guessing? do you have access to diagnostic equipment or is this a driveway diagnosis? just a ? not a diss

I'm sorry bro. Meant to reply back to you.. But yes I have ordered a new one for my car just hasn't came in yet.. I have a kiwi wifi that turns my cars odb2 plug into wifi so I can sync it up to my phone. I have an app called Rev that works like a diagnostic tool. The only code it reads is the o2 sensor failure in Bank 1 sensor 2.

never a problem my man!!! i was getting a little worried. IMO i would try to get all the required components up and running before adjustments were made. If you dont you may end up fighting the repair with no success. Does that app work? what kind of phone do you have. any info on that would be helpful!!!!!

Few things that you mentioned could be the cause. A gutted cat has shown on dynos to lose power, and the CEL can cause a rich fuel settings, and No VTEC engagement. Seeing that it use to be turbo, it is possible that your motor has seen better days. Compression test, Leak down test are good ways to determine if your motor is on its way out. Now, seeing that the car has seen power, is your car lagging, or is the clutch slipping? Maybe you are still use to the turbo feeling, and the car just isn't up to par.

I had the bottom end rebuilt, my compressions were 140,145,135,150 (Cyl# 1,2,3,4) clutch isn't slipping. I've driven a b16 civic with same bolt ons as mine that has more power than my car..

Agreed - if it was turbo and you've pulled it but made no other changes you are now looking at what, 9.5:1 or so on a car that likes 10.5:1 -> 12:1 N/A?

Makes a difference.

I hav similar problem in a way, Iv owned lots of hondas my whole life and hav done minor things but I cant post on the site yet cause its my first day but i need to kno asap about som things.... I bought a 93EJ1 with a LSV and am running a p28 chipped, when i drive it it like laggs bad b4 vtec like 3400rpms then speeds up fine and when i hit vtec i can hear it pop but its not rly feeling strong and then the CEL comes on... wtf so i did the paperclip trick it does a quick flash then long long then short short so its code 22 but the quick flash when i turn the ign is that code 1?? so will a sohc vtec solenoid work and the lagg part rly makes me mad... i changed the oil, seafoamd it and cause somtimes it idles fluctuates i did throttle cleaner which helpd a little. But is it my clutch?? cause its missing the metal plate that goes out side the bell housing, i guss it keeps the clutch cooler or somthing but idk theres lots of snow up here so could the clutch be damaged from being wet?? or should i do a tranny fluid change to c if that helps?? im lost on things so i appreciate the help cause i cant post forums yet.......
