Default Looking Into Buying a 2003 Civic Hybrid 4Dr...

I need everything you guys know about these cars. Issues, maintenance, gas mileage...
If something breaks, is it the same as fixing any other Honda? Any random stuff I should know about? I found one for $8k with 102k miles on it?

Nice. No responses. I guess this is why the tech forums are ****. Shout out to everyone who has helped drive H-T into the ground. Keep up the good work.

Hardly anyone (as in next to no one) here drives a Hybrid. How are they supposed to provide you with any input?

Nice overreaction to not receiving any advice.

As a tech at Honda, heres my 2 cents. FU*K hybrids. The amount of cash you have to put into these cars will never be outweighed by fuel savings; which isnt even that much over a regular gas civic.
Ive replaced a few transmissions, countless IMA batteries (at $3000+ customer pay) and plenty of other crap... My advice? Buy anything other than a hybrid, you will not regret it.
And also, chill out; reactions like yours is the reason that people dont want to give any advice

I found issues with the battery reliability in the heat. As well as charging issues in the heat. I also found that Honda will not replace faulty battery and usually leaves it to the consumer in these cases to fix the issue.

I found gas mileage to range between the 38-42 mpg range. Someimes even better.

Aside from the IMA, working on the engine is the same as any other 4 cylinder Honda.

I'm sure if my thread title said, " what color should I paint my rims bra?", it would be about 4 pages deep by now. Thanks.

Yeah man. That's what I read on numerous reviews. $3k to fix a battery, that will not be covered under any type of warranty. I think we are going to get a Fit instead. Thanks for the advice man.

Glad to hear it.

Honda has replaced countless IMA batteries under their warranty (that was extended) especially because of the heat. Once your outside the warranty period though, you are on your own... There were also several ecu updates we have performed to compensate for the premature deterioration caused by heat. My feeling is that it is just a band-aid fix and doesnt really solve the problem...

Do yourself a favor and get the Fit; its a great car and you wont regret it, I promise
