So, which part do I need to replace? The upper shock mount? or the shock its self?

I just replaced the shocks on both sides 2 months ago. (The inner strut/shock not the springs..)

The entire top hat needs replacing. Doesn't look like the strut was installed properly.

Ok thanx. The one time I didn't do the work myself is when I run into problems.... Go figure!!

Yeah looks like the thick washer that goes on the shock rod was not installed, installed wrong or possibly slipped.

Does it matter which year and model I get the part off of? Mine is a 92 vx.

Thanx

Don't think it matters. Get the washer on it this time.

92-00 doesn't matter, but if you get 96-00 shocks they won't have brake line mounts and you may have to grind some tabs off around the top hat.

I live in Maine too, Portland area. Potholes are out of control this year. There was one on State Street that was the size of a small bath tub.

In GA they put an iron plate over bad pot holes until they can fix them. Most time the edges of the plate do more damage than the pot holes would. My header is currently cracked because of one lol.

Tophats from a 92-00 Civic & 94-01 Integra (front) will work. I hope your hood is okay.

When this happened to me it was the big thick gold washer. It was forced to slide down the rod... the top hat is fine... you need to get the shock off without taking the top washer off just undo the top hat and slide it out and see what you have...

Ouch, I'd say grab a pair of new shocks, or a new suspension. Its times like these that make you get something nice for your ride

Top mount looks fine, but you're going to need a new shock or spring most likely.

It looks like when they installed the shocks they used the washer that came with the shocks instead of the large flat OEM washer. I had the same thing happen to my KYBs when I used there lock washer. I was lucky and had the OEM washers in the glove box and was able to do a road side repair. Make sure that you check all 4 shocks and use the OEM part. This little washer supports all the weight of the car. I bet you have a nice dent on the under side of your hood
You will need number 14 in the diag

I called my buddy who I had install my shocks while I was at work. And he said he DIDN'T install the thick washers. Cuz he couldn't even get close to getting the nut started....

Sounds like your buddy doesnt know how to replace shocks correctly. You have to use a spring compressor to compress the springs to get everything back together again. If I where you I wouldnt drive your car until you get it fixed right. having your shocks blow through the mounts like that could cause very erratic handling

I can get the hole front strut assembly from a 95 integra. Can I just take mine out and just install the integra 1 without any problems?

Thanx

Or is it that, I can only use the "top hat" off of the 95 integra?

Yes, but get both or it's going to sit and ride kinda funny.
