What are some things you would do or not do to your R?
I'd probably bolt a few nice mods to it, tune it and let it alone. Maybe a different F/D or close ratio gear set.
Regrets....Boosting it via a SC, now I'm addicted to boost. Yeah I know most here hate that route. Flame suit on lol.

I'd probably not have bought the current 97 and gotten a 98 rolling shell (from a fellow member that still had 5lug and stuff but just no engine) k-swap, turbo, get JDM red recaros, CDM red rear seats, j's racing GT wing, JDM side skirt/valence kit, regamaster EVOs in white, UKDM cluster, JDM **** boot, JDM shift ****, Spoon from brake kit, roll cage, Takata harness, and mugen n1 suspension. Tune it all for sick *** track car setup.
yea...initially the old man and I wanted a track car (we were thinking about getting an old Alfa shell and just doing random stuff) but decided that a car that sits around for 3/4 of the year wasn't really worth it. But now, the R sits 305 days out of the year and I'm kinda afraid to track it hard since it's so clean and obviously very well cared for by the 2 previous owners. I couldn't diss them and just beat on it, you know?

Actually it's in far better shape mechanically now than it was when I got it (replaced a ton of parts with new OEM).
Still have a few things to fix, but I'd beat on it if it was a 97 with 1,500 miles on the odometer.

The car was built to be driven and tracked IMO, so that's what I do with it.
Although as mentioned, my regret of having a race car = very little track time for the ITR, no point in the expense in safety parts (bar, seats, harnesses) for the ITR considering..

I would take off my supercharger and go back to n/a. I would also move to a place where it doesn't get 8 inches of snow in the middle of March.
Having been an owner of 1 of 4 since 2004... I would have done this.
Bought a cherry 97 in the first place, paid it of, tracked it more and not mod'd the hell out of it.
It would have ended up being the only one I would have owned, and it would be paid off by now. I wouldn't have wasted time/money building my PY and I'd be a happy man.

I remember reading that and cringed at the carnage. Even though it wasn't his fault it still makes you sick. GL with the rebuild. Waiting can kill you, I know because mine has been down 5 years.

That's what I'm worried about, its on s300 and fully tuned but its the high IAT's on .the track that worry me. My local track is Watkins Glen and there are a couple long straights where I could get into upper 4th gear. I would love to find a lht kit but I don't want to spend all the money on it when I could just tkae the supercharger off.
After 6 years of ownership, I have no regrets about the car or the mods. My only regret would be selling the original tranny instead of just fixing it. I'd like to get that tranny back.

I really can't say that I regret anything about my R. It has been a great car for me. I have owned it for 3 years and I am just now starting to really get into it! I drive it everyday with no regret.

and now I'm at a fork in the road.
