Default S4C with LSD or 99 Civic SI with LSD?

Which tranny would be better to mate to a GSR engine, the S4C type R with LSD or a 99 Civic SI with LSD? I tend to think the S4C with the double synchros.

B16A2 has a dual cone synchro in 2nd just like the CTR/ITR. Only difference is the diff and ring gear bolt pattern.

I'd go with the B16A2 and LSD. I'd rather refresh a trans and install a good LSD than have a stock trans in unknown condition.

Yeah makes sense. Too bad I cannot mate a K20Z3 tranny to a GSR block, it is a very nice 6-spd tranny with helical LSD.

Honestly man, K-series tranny's suck. The gearing is nice, but a B-series tranny will hold up better.

Aside from an extra gear, you can install better gears in a B series than what is available (stock or aftermarket) for the K. The only thing the K has going for it is the shorter FD's available and an extra gear.
