I just recently gutted my cat and put on a header. I now notice a rattle from 3k rpms to redline. I checked everything and rechecked it again I cant find anything loose or touching the exhaust. Is it just the cat making the rattling noise from inside or something? Has this happened to anybody else?

 

nobody has this problem.

 

it's probably the heat shield around your cat. if not, it's probably because you illegally gutted your cat for that mad skillz 1/4th wheel horsepower.

 

So you're saying that gutting your catalytic doesn't give you very much power. I really can't argue with the gain because it's pretty much free. Unless you get smog tested.

 

i used to have a rattle like that around 3 k rpm, it went away though when i got my tanabe exhaust.

 

I have the same rattle. I think its because i have stock cx exhaust hooked up to a b16. If you wanna get rid of that rattle just unhook the exhaust and run open header. Its loud and everything rattles so you dont have to concentrate on just 1 rattle.
