Car: EF STD 90 SOHC ZC stock, pm6

Problem: No start. Zilch, nada, nothing.

Checked: Main relay, grounds, dizzy, fuel, fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, starter, battery.

I've done the weak spark test and all that crap. I've been searching a lot. I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to the ignitor.

When I tested the ignitor I wasn't getting any response with the multimeter but everything else checked out perfect.

The question I have is will the ignitor fail without a Check engine light? I'm getting weak spark still, all I've read is that "if the ignitor is bad then you will get ZERO spark." I'm getting weak spark, does that still count? Will it not show a code if it's not completely failed or something?

Also recommendations for replacement dizzys? Links please.

Mmmmmm, like I said, I've checked everything. I'm 99% sure it's the ignitor.

yes it will fail without a CEL...as for the replacement dizzy if your running mpfi with a pm6 ecu then you will need a td-02u or td-18u replacement dizzy...google distributor king for a replacement or get one from the junk yard...!!!

 

Had the exact same problem on my parts car,your problem is the ignitor 100%

I had weak spark and no check engine light as well.
