obd0 to obd1.
the previous owner of my car convert a b16a1 which to my understanding is obd0 to obd1, using p08 ecu. i recently swapped a b16a2 and the wiring job done by the previous owner is a nightmare. it is a mix of b16a1 and the 1.3 liter twin carburetor wiring. when i pulled the engine out and check the wiring, many wires are not connected and i have no "check engine" light. i need advice in making this less of a headache. is it possible for me to use everything obd1 or do i still have to re-use some of the obd0 wires? the wiring job is for example, obd0 socket cut and connect to fit the obd1 socket. i hope my explanation is clear enough. needs help fast. thanks in advance..
whyyy do ppl try to hack in the obd1 harness?? such a hassle and isnt needed...you use the harness that fits the chassis not the engine. you make the harness plugs fit and lenthen wire where needed. i have a b16a obd1 in my 90 dx. mpfi converted and dx engine harness with a few diff sensor plugs added. simple
Your best bet is to get a new under dash harness for you car that matches. And matching engine harness for your car and start over the wiring is pretty simple and straight forward for the dpfi-mpfi swap wiring. I wouldn't waste my time tryin to fix someone else wiring mess it can become a headach. Or your other option is Get a si under dash harness and si engine harness and it will all pretty much be pnp

Basically you have two options. Fix whats there or start over with another harness. One option cost more money and ones less money but more work. Choose your poison. Personally I would just work with what you got. Just remove the whole engine side of the harness until you got the entire thing sitting on top of the motor. then take out any extra or hacked up parts(mark whats not connected before you remove it). Go get a good soldering setup, electrical tape, bunch of 18gage wire, heat shrink & get to work.
