Engine identification

I can't find out how to determine the type D16Y5, D16Y6, etc. 97 Civic Hatchback DX Parts - VIN: 2HGEJ6341VH. I did search thru the forum.

All US '96-'00 hatch backs came with the D16Y7. Here is the location of the block ID plate:
