my 93 civic has been getting poor gas mileage ever since i did a swap(d16y7 into a 93 civic frame also convert it to obd1). When i drive i can smell gas and i think its coming from the front of the car. I have no cel or leaks. I'm thinking it may have an injector leak or regulator problem. Lately i been getting around 115 miles full tank (not good). My integra gets around 240-280 miles and this civic get only 100 miles full tank. Can this be an injector leak or regulator problem?

 

What's your gas mileage?

 

If you smell raw gas check all the fuel lines and your fuel rail.

 

check the fuel lines. make shure you dont have a puddle of gas in your driveway everyday

 

you'll be able to tell if you have a fuel leak if you just check the rail while having someone turn the ignition on. When the fuel pump cuts on it'll squirt fuel. There is no way you should be getting that kind of fuel mileage.

 

there is no leaks what so ever. Just smell and no puddle.

 

If you can smell fuel then it's obviously leaking.

you can't smell gas in a car that doesn't leak.

have someone continuously prime the pump while you look around underhood and find the leak.

 

maybe someones siphoning your gas?

 

Might be your regulator and or return lines. The fuel could be in the form of vapor.
