My del sol is missing fog lights. I bought some aftermarket ones. After doing further research I heard the OEM light bulbs are type 3497 or 1156. What's the difference? Also, where can I get the plugs for the bulbs that fit inside the fog lights? I'm also guessing i'll just have to splice the original fog light harness into the new bulbs seeing as I probably won't be able to find a factory harness with the connectors. Thanks.

are you talking about the actual fog light or aux lights? theres a difference.. but since you mentioned the number 1156 you must be talking about the aux light.

 

btw 1156 and 3497 are the same just the glass design are shaped diff

 

They're interchangeable. I changed my del sol aux bulbs like 2 years back.

I know most car bulbs have the sockets attached to the bulb, but I can't seem to find them with these small 1156/3497 bulbs. Any other kind of bulbs I can use in my foglights? Anyone have any ideas on what all I need? Thanks.
