Changing Tranny fluid???
I have a 99 sedan LX. I need to change my tranny fluid. Now, I'm getting the fluid from Honda, but I need to know how many quarts first of all. Secondly, I need to know where it drains from and where to put it in. I'm servicing my car this weekend so this would be a big help.
Assuming you have a 5 speed (you never said) the drain plug is on the side near the bottom of the casing... the plug itself has no edges for a wrench/socket, rather it has a 3/8 square for the driver.
The fill plug is a 17mm bolt located northwest of the drain bolt. Most Civic manuals take 1.9 quarts. I put in 2 quarts and let the rest drain out until it sets its own level. Make sure the car is level and keep an oil pan on the ground when refilling the trans case.

Use a 3/8 square driver with no socket to remove the drain plug.
Before you drain, pull out the dipstick - it's got a yellow handle.
Drain and fill with 3 quarts of Honda ATF with a long funnel ran into the dipstick hole.
you're done.
