Doesnt look bad in the pics, purely judging from pictures and the less than ideal description, I'd offer him some where in the neighborhood of $4000 to $4400, depending on how clean the car is in person. 116,000 miles is not bad at all for a '95. If it was reasonably well cared for you should be able to get another 60k to 70k out of the motor.

I'd take an acura tech with you to look at the car. Just pay the tech to give it a good look over. That could save you a lot of head aches in the future. Good luck with it.

True That. ^^

I just bought my GS with 72,000 for 5000. If your the wheelin', dealin' type, go with cash, and offer him something a little lower than 4g. See how he talks about the vehicle. If he says "Its my Baby" hes not going to want to deal, if its a side car and theres something nicer in the driveway, go for the gold.

Oh, and never make the first offer.

Don't blow the deal with a low ball offer. It looks nice enough in the pics and is probably worth the 5G's. The question is is it worth that to you? And is the radio the only problem with the car? Any thing other than needing normal maintenance could honestly be negotiated.

To throw something else in, take cash and take it for a decent length test drive. Hit a couple bumps and make sure it doesnt fall appart. Like six said, if it checks out good then try to deal and see how he reacts.

I just bought my '96 with 117k on the clock for $4500. It has less than perfect body condition (lots of dings, dents and scuffs) but the engine was just rebuilt as well as a new clutch, flywheel, water pump, oil pump, belts, pulleys, seals and bearings.

If the car is clean, no rust, has solid maintenance records, has had the timing belt done already and doesn't need anything major like tires, clutch, exhaust, shocks, etc. you might be in the range of $4500 to $5500 based on what I looked at very recently. Another bonus if the car has not been modified or minimally modified in any way, too.

Deduct value from there if you need to fix, add or replace anything over a few hundred bucks at a shot. Deduct value if there are a lot of cheap, tasteless mods done, or if the car was completely neglected by the previous owner.

The condition a used car is shown to a potential buyer is a good indication of how that owner took care of the car in the first place. If it's clean and tidy, you can bet the owner took pretty decent care of it. If it's dirty and full of crap, you can probably guess that it was abused.

Just a few hints from someone who has bought a LOT of used cars in his life.
