Is it worth it?
Ok, for the last couple of months I have been trying to get an integra. I really wanted a GSR but the regular 1.8 non vtec would do. I came across this deal yesterday:
1994 Acura Integra. 180,000 miles. 5 speed. Mint condition on the outside and the interior is in good condition. They wanted 4,700 for it I believe. Its at a dealership. Now I really want an Integra and have nearly come close to getting money to buy someone's gsr for 10k but thats shaky right now. Is this price too high or should I jump on it. There isn't many Integra's AT ALL here in Maine so when they jump by its nice to see.
Another thing I thought of. Buy the car for whatever price I can manage this dealer at. Then get an GSR motor swap which is around 3k or so depending on who does it. Then I would have myself a nice ride correct?
Please any info would be great. I really want to jump into the Integra club.

A GSR motor in an LS would be pretty nice. Just buying the GSR would save you a lot of the hassle, though. But if tegs are a rarity in your area then the LS hybrid will probably be your best bet.
Just wait for the GS-R. A motor swap would probably work, but a car w/o is almost certain to work better. Just be ready to travel for it... 180,000 mile integra still has miles left, but why bother going that high mileage if you don't have to?
Thanks, I will definately scale through my options. I just really want an Integra. And my patience is getting slim. I have been waiting for over 6 months for a good deal.

Well I will go pondering once again for a GS-R......seems like i'll be doing this for a while again. I have a great deal here in Maine but I just can't come up with the money for it right now. Hopefully it stays around or something better comes along. A Teg just needs to be in my driveway soon!
The only reason I was saying motor swap is because I think that having 180k on the motor would make it a tough setup to run turbo. Am I right by assuming that. I just wouldn't want to buy a turbo kit...then install and have the motor cash out.
buying a car can make you anxious to just have something close to what you want. But hold out and get EXACTLY what you want, or you'll regret it later when you do have that extra cash in your hand.
