HELP!! on my ZC engine please..
well first of all i have an 88 crx si with a ZC engine swap. well my problem is that once i was putting the swap in i started it up and it ran just fine but the next day i try starting it up and it woulnt start at all.. i first had a feeling it will be the fuel but i check it and the engine is getting fuel, then i went to check the spark on the dizzy and it wasnt sending anything so i replace the dizzy for an extra one i had after that the dizzy was still not sending spark. so i went to the ECU and it was showing me code 10 and 15. after i saw that a friend of mine said that code 10 mean that a wire was loose so i went checking the whole harness in the engine and everything was fine so i try starting it up again and it still didnt start so then i went to the ECU and now its just showing code 15 .. but i have try so many things and the car will not start no more what can that be... PLEASE any expert on this engines help me..also im new to this engines..
Code 15 (ECU flashing 15 times) indicates a problem with the igniter in the distributor - probably a loose wire - the igniter wire is the thick white wire at the round 7-wire distributor connector - it is located in the middle row of 4 wires and is on the end of the row, opposite from the empty pin
Oh ok ..i just went outside and to a look at it and the dizzy is missing that wire that u say and i check the harness and it has two wires missing ..and those two are wire up with the cam senor..they are both blue but one has a yellow or white. And the other one has a green one..so what can i do there if both the harness and dizzy are missing those wires? ??
o.k. - you have DOHC ZC engine - this is what should have happened for wiring the distributor - the Si engine harness has a round 7-wire connector - the ZC distributor has a rectangular 5-wire connector - the Si connector should have been removed from the engine harness and a rectangular 5-wire connector from any 88-91 CRX/Civic DPFI or 88-89 Integra engine harness should have been installed in its place on the Si engine harness with wire colors matching on both sides of the connection - obviously, by swapping a 5-wire connector onto the harness that had a 7-wire connector, you are going to have 2 wires left over - these wires are blue with a green stripe and blue with a yellow stripe - these wires should have been extended and connected to the green connector on the cylinder sensor on the end of the exhaust camshaft, again matching color for color on both sides of the connection - sounds to me like that instead of doing it the right way as listed above, the rectangular connector was removed from the distributor and a round Si connector was installed in its place, which is why you have empty pins at the connector - you should never do it this way for the simple reason that if you need to change distributors, it is not just plug and play, but instead you have to again swap connectors on the distributor - not knowing where all of the wires are now located in the connectors leaves me not knowing how to tell you to fix it - if it was running and now isn't, and you have a code 15, it has to be a problem with either the igniter itself or the igniter wiring
oh ok .. im going to try to take some pictures for u to see ..but is there anyway u can post some pics to show me how its done so i can just redo the wires.. if there is any problem.??also some guy was telling about , that it will be easier if i just cut some c1 and c2 wires from the ECU and redo the wires all the way to the cylinder senor or something like ,my question is do i really have to do that instead of just rewiring the dizzy and cylinder senor?? but posible can you just explain all that to me man please!!.. ill be really thankful with your knowledge..because as u can see i dont know anything about this swaps...please help me and post some pics if posible.. thanks
ook ... i got some pics but im a new to all this in honda-tech .. so my question is how do i post the pics for u to see them ...??? oh and the connection is a circle..
