i have a 97 del sol with a type r in it.
i was driving it today perfectly fine. first 20 to 30 minutes or so everything seemed ok. i stopped at this light and went for the go at green. as soon as a press on the gas peddle my car slowlys turns off. i dont know what possibly happened. keeps happening, i had to slam on the gas to get it going to a safe spot to keep the car. my car backfires when i try to turn it on now. its really weird but i have no idea whats happening with the car right now.

can i please get some feedback on this.

 

Any CELs? Last tune up?

 

make sure all the spark wires are push in on the top of the engine by the plugs and on the side at the other end of the wires

try a buddies dizzy on it, it sounds like your ignitor or coil inside the dizzy!! more than likely ignitor though!! best bet before spending money though is if a buddy has a dizzy that fits or if you have a spare that doesn't either out the whole one on or swap out coil and ignitor!!
