Icon2 engine swap 1990 crx

Noob here..... So I have a 1990 crx it came with a d15b7 bottom end and i think its a d16z6 vtec head. So it shot a rod through the oil pan so the engine is done. I was wondering how can I tell if the guy before me changed the obd0 to obd1 ect.?

I also was wounding how hard it would be to swap a obd0 b16a1 with cable transmission and if I would have to change out axels for this swap?

i wanted to know how hard it would be to convert to obd2 and if possible hydraulic transmission because I found a b16a2 vtec at a local junk yard for $150.0?

Or do you guys think I should just get another d15b7 bottom end and put my z6 head and keep the mini me swap?

B16 all the way! This swap will take a 16 to 17 sec car and instantly become a mid to high 14 sec car. The one in the scrap yard will most likely need lots of rebuilding, and you can get a jdm motor, trany, and ecu for like 1500, they are not too terrible. I used to get mine from jazzproparts.com but idk if they still do motors. As for the obd0 or 1 issue look at the CPU does it have the jumper between the ecu and the stock harness. Also look at the cpu itself and google the numbers on it there are plenty of lists out there. Yes, you need diff axles, and i believe half shaft, the axles off of the 1990 Integra LS work fine. the half shaft too i think. The swap harness and the obd0 to obd1 is pretty painless with the harness from rywire.com. cable to hydro is not too bad but it can get tricky. the kits that make the hydro tranny a cable one break easily. Better to stay cable if you are a noob.

So that b16 in the yard that has a hydro tranny I can switch out the tranny for a cable?

I mean the guy only wants $150.00 for it I got the engine to turn over. I'm going back there today to try to get it started hopefully it does.

I wanted to know changing out the axles hard to do? Do it have to be a 1990 integra Lx or DA?

you can mount a cable tranny to the b16 also da is short for integra....that generation....axles are easy you take the nut off pull everything back then pop it out of the tranny....one side will have a half shaft same **** tho....if you do get that b16 from the junkyard id run thru it before installing it.....google leak down test and do one of those just to be sure gl bro let us know whats up

DA is in the integra LS's vin number such as JH4DA9444MS016341 that is where it comes from it is the early 90's model LS chassis. That is where most of the nick names come from such as EG. Yes, the 150$ B16 is a good deal, try it if it works great. Yes all b series tranys bolt right up, the Japanese were very efficient in the 80's and early to mid 90's. All b series parts are to the same bolt specs. D series as well. Rebuilding the scrap yard one is OK, if it needs it, just will cost a little more in the long run, but you will have a new motor. If it is good to go you got a hell of a deal. You sure it is a B16 and not a D16? Wish i could find one that cheap. My local scrap yard charges over top dollar for anything they get. I once saw a B18a1 for 1500$. I asked if they were joking and they told me to leave.
