How to install JDM climate control
Hey I tried the search button, so dont flame about that. I knew there was a site or a link to some post about this. cuz i know it just doesnt plug in, I was wondering how I go about installing this. Oh yeah and if any one is intereted in it hit me up with an offer. I aslo have a JDM coin Pocket that reaplaces the stop where yout stock sterio would go.
i think only thing u can use for it is the outer facia, the whole unit behind wont work since its not like the US climate controls. i believe theirs are all electronically controlled with the buttons. not like our and the cables. i could be wrong though.

If this is for the 5gen listed as your avatar, I don't think it will work because I believe it is electronically controlled as stated earlier, at least I know the Prelude is.
I could be wrong, but isn't that install not going to work because the controls are going to be on the wrong side of the dash? (6gen)

WOW, 120 bucks....ouch

In some of the Hondas it is worth installing the units due to their functions. On the DA there's like 5 sensors...a temp, day/night, etc...If you get that to work right, its pretty cool. you guys are lucky yours plug in so easy.
I think it is possible to adapt a FUNCTIONAL system to a USDM honda. Just because no one has done it doesn't mean its impossible and I intend to try. I have a partial wiring harness and the actuator for the heater box. What I know so far....
The JDM heater actuator won't mount directly to the USDM box obviously because it is the mirror image (reversed) BUT. It should be very possible to mount it to the side of the heater box and modify the USDM actuator cable accordingly. The AC plugs are the same and will connect to the JDM harness. The blower box however is diferent based on the wire colors and gauges. I'm just guessing here because I don't have the complete harness but it makes sense because the JDM blower is continuously variable and controled by the console as opposed to the USDM blower which simply has four settings. There is also a temperature sensor in the JDM blower that the USDM system doesn't have.
I'm still looking for a complete JDM wiring harness and blower box. If anyone knows where I can find these things please tell me. but i'm certain that with a little epoxy and some creative fabrication I can get it to work.
