I need to replace the bulb in my gear selector in my 04 civic. Do I have to take the whole console apart? I've pulled off the trim around the selector but I didn't see a way to access the bulb and didn't want to scratch anything up.
Also, the small chrome piece on my air vent fell out and is gone. Anywhere I can buy just that piece?

I don't have an automatic, so I can't say for certain if removing the whole center console is necessary, but it doesn't look like it.

Use these DIY's from the FAQ's to guide you.

The first one looks like you should be able to replace the bulb without removing the whole console.

If you need to remove it, between the two DIY's you should be able to figure it out.




The "small chrome piece" is probably just an accessory. Search Google for a replacement.
