Picked up a set of Advance Auto fogs (yes, knock-off. imitations of the jdm and prelude fogs. its a DD and something I am adding for lighting function and not something I was wanting to spend $50-300 on) and noticed I have never seen a write-up or hear people talk about how they installed them. From looking at them in the package, I do not feel the "brackets" will allow mounting to bumper crash bar (as I assume this is where most people mount them) while allowing the fogs to be in the "correct" location on the bumper.
Interested to hear/see how some of you guys who have these fogs did this part of the install. Also, the "correct" location for the fogs. Are the EF bumpers marked on the back like the EM1's etc for the foglight placement?
TIA guys!

how did you attach them at the top?
I am going to mess with this tomorrow but I just wanted to get some ideas before I started. Not trying to start n00b threads as I am fully capable of doing this on my own. Just look for various ways people have done it before for ideas.

i bought some harbor frieght ones for my 91 hatch, i cut the bumper... i just measured up where i thought they should go.. but they are marked on the back but the hole is huge... i also had to cut my bumper support because they were a little to big but they look great!!

this.
no two installs are going to be the same if youre not dealing with all stock parts for the car.
i used a dremel to cut the bumper where i needed and made my own brackets to fit my talon/eclipse foglights on. its mounted directly on the bumper, not the metal bumper support, because thats what the design of the fogs and the position inside the grill called for. it does not rattle a bit, since my bumper does not budge at all when fully bolted.
ive also wired it 2 different ways. first time i powered it directly to the battery with an inline fuse and a relay with a signal wire jumpered to the side driving light so it would always come on with my parking lights. this way i can still control them to turn on without the headlights if needed, and i figured i would always want them on with the headlights.
the other way i made my own harness to plug into my UNUSED hi beam harness because i dont use hi beams with my EDM H4 bulbs. now i just switch the hi beam on when i want the fog lights on with the headlights with the oem headlight stalk. i figured this is the better way, i actually dont want my foglights on when i dont need them since its just an extra current draw (= drag) on the alternator, which actually DOES affect mileage, slightly. and i dont want to burn out the bulbs prematurely. hi beam stalk is a nice convenient switch and i like the hi beam signal light in the dash letting me know when its on.
