HELP !! major idle problem
okay. so i have a 97 b18b1 i just got the correct ecu for the car.
from the 1st start up on this new ecu the car idled a little high but no cel
the engine was running a civic ecu before and ran like ****.
i cleaned the engine. simple green and water with battery disconnected. on startup i had a cel. so i reset the ecu. still had it i figured it may have been the sensor on the back the iacv. followed the how to clean it guide on the forum.
when i took it off i noticed the hoses had barely any coolant in them and didnt leak out much. shouldnt they have pressure ? or at least leak coolant from head ?
started the car up after cleaning the iacv and it died on 1st idle instantly.
started her up again. smells like gas and is violently fluctuating in rpms between 400-1600
it barely drives now.
on the intake manifold which the sensors are which ? anyone got a diagram cant seem to find one.
im gonna have the cel checked at pep boys in the morning as a start.
but this is odd.
while the car is running if i unplug the sensors the two on the throttlebody make the car turn off.
the one i think is the map sensor(middle top) doesnt make any difference between plugged in and not. before i cleaned the engine the hose on the map sensor was sucking in air. now it doesnt.
the iacv when unplugged on cold car dies. at operating temp car goes to 100rpms. which it should to set the idle speed.... correct ?
ive already tried setting the idle too using that screw. no luck.
so im thinking map sensor. but maybe i screwed up the iacv too while cleaning it ?
Anyone got any ideas.
tried to cover everything that ive done and my thoughts in detail.

okay.
ill find the code myself tommorow morning and clean that fitv if i have one. engines a 1997 but u never know. lol hondas.
thanks for the cel check. didnt know u could do that on hondas. figured i needed a scanner
ill post back once i figure it out
i have bled the coolant system in the past but i didnt after cleaning the iacv. the bottom hose is questionable so ill replace that tommorow too. slight bulge on it

Figured out half of it, checked the cel code it was water temp sensor. >< then had an idea. Pulled the spark plug wires one by one and found out it was a plug. Odd
now it's still idling high, at 32-3500 rpm's there is a whine, and the engine is well chugging a bit would be the way I describe it, what do u guys think ?

Yes checked every hose now >< I'm replacing the only hose I havnt in the engine bay Tommorow, so we shall see if that cures it, the iacv may be faulty so I'm replacing that too
okay.
changed the iacv now the car idles good when its warmed up.
im smelling gas tho now. and on startup it wont run. have to keep foot on gas til she warms up to keep her running.
does the evap control sensor effect air to fuel mixture ? because ive realized when i unplug that sensor nothing changes. before i was tinkering with the idle the hose on that used to suck air. checked the power on it with a voltmeter and im getting nothing. so im assuming its burned out. but before i change it i wanna know if this sensor could cause this
ideas ?

You have code 6 for the ECT sensor, right? A faulty ECT sensor is a common cause for idle problems. Did you measure the resistance of the 2P sensor below the distributor?
