Anybody know anything about the Yamaha RD bikes?
I was thinking about getting one from the mid 70's for a pimp around town bike. Not sure if this would be a wise decision. Thoughts?
I had a 76 rd400 and use as a daily in town and short trips on the freeway,
long rides on the freeway it could do but my hand would be numb after my
20 mile commute.

There is a HUGE difference in older bikes vs current bikes in the handling and braking departments. If I were daily riding I'd go for something newer personally.
After riding my dads '74 Kawasaki H1 triple 750 I learned that turning and slowing does were never part of the design process.

Yeah well, I'm riding around on an '81 bike right now, so how bad could it be? Besides, I'm not looking to bomb the canyons. Just point a to point b stuff.

Dont plain on taking any long trips though, and always ride around with at least two spare plugs. I wouldn't want you to break down out on the highway somewhere... i've done that, it's a friggen drag
