Hey guys. I have a problem. I have a 1997 honda civic that my sister gave to me. The car has several problems but one problem i seem to cant find the solution is this. The front passenger side door only opens from the outside. Ppl have to always roll down the window to open it. When i open the door, I see the thee screws that surrounds the locking mechanism. But one is missing and the last two are so loose that when you close the door they slip out a little. Can I fix it myself or do i have to get the mechanic to fix it. I want to take my drivers test in it but i get docked points if the instructor cant open the door from the inside. Please help!

 

You should be able to fix it yourself. Take the door panel off and you should see the rod that connects the inner door handle to the lock mechanism. Make sure it is not broken or just disconnected. Also, you should be able to tighten the mechanisim in the door yourself with basic tools. If you need to know how to remove the door panel step by step you can private message me.
