Default CRX si 5 speed trans to JDM D15B?

So, im picking up this CRX si 5speed trans around chicago. He never told me what year is that. but this tranny has 5 speed clutch cable sellin it for $200.00

I have a 91 ef and a JDM D15B 4 speed. I took out the 4 speed trans and bought 5 speed trans came out of 96 civic. It wouldnt fit so i had to wait and this guy texted me offer his tranny.

Would it fit? Guy that helped me out here said it should from 89-91 civic hatch si. But this one is from CRX si unknown year. Im not sure. Scared to buy if its not gonna fit again. Right now i have 2 trannys. any ideas? help me out.. thanks in advance

You could tell what year the tranny is from the groves on the shalf. 88 tranny has 0 groves. 89 has 1 grove and 90-91 has two grove.& depending what year the tranny is depends if it could fit your clutch. 89-91 tranny has 20 splines on the shalf so it should fit the clutch on your Ef with no promblem if its an 89-91 tranny. hoped this help

Go into the FAQ, TRANSMISSION AND AXLE, second thread. It will tell you what to look for. Also I'd like to assume you know but if you don't 88-91 transmissions are cable actuated. If you're looking at a hydraulic transmission then you may encounter the same problem with the last transmission.
