oil?
Bought a 2000 Prelude with 146k miles recently and I forgot to ask what kind of oil the guy used. So I don't know if he used synthetic or regular or what. Is there any way to eyeball it to see some sort of difference?
Since I'm unsure of what was used on the car before I got it which do you think would be my safest choice? Synthetic, Regular, High Mileage?
My manual recommends 5w30 but a lot online say 10w30 is good too. I'm in Florida so it's pretty much hot all year long. What do you think?

I usually mix Walmart Brand Synthetic with Walmart Brand High Mileage and you get a semi synthetic. You can do it with any brand oil I have also used Mobil 1 synthetic with Mobil 1 5000. If it burns off, or you lose too much between oil changes go with just straight conventional.
x2 what they said, with my car it burns the thin oil a little faster than 10w-30. If you plan on running it until the wheels fall off then I would personally use synthetic and change it every 7-10k depending on the type of driving.
I have a 01 and I always used 10w 30 (it's thicker) just because my car burned oil. I have high miles so I used high mileage before but I noticed synthetic is better so I would use 10w 30 syntethic oil. I would also reccoment to change it more often then 7 to 10 thousand miles maybe every 5 thousand but not much more considering you have high miles.
