d15b7/d16z6 turbo build ??s
hello all. I'm doing a d15b7 mini ne vtec turbo build. its not my first time in an engine, but my first FI build. I got a d15 block with srp low compression pistons off someone for $165 cause he went b series. I have a d16z6 swap in my crx but the rings are bad and I want boost anyway. perfect time, eh? oh, btw my girlfriend's dad is a diesel mechanic for 30+ years.
now I know how everything works and have been in an engine before but I forgot what the heck these things are called. I want to be able to bring intelligent information to this build and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what these cone shaped things are called under the crank assembly?
I'll post more pics later if this build and the car it's going in. thanks fellas

ok here's the build. i picked up a 1991 crx with a d16z6 swap in it.
the rings are going bad as it smokes on acceleration. i was going to do a rebuild on it, but i found a post on another honda site about someone selling a d series block built for turbo. $165 for everything is a steal in my book considering the pistons alone go for almost $600! the block didn't come with an oil pan, but i was going to get a stock one, prolly off of ebay or a junkyard, because i want to get an oil filder sandwich adaptor for my oil feed and return lines. any comments on that idea? this is my first turbo build. i already know all the information on doing the mini me swap (z6 head gasket, timing belt, intake mani.. etc) i intend to get eagle rods as the stock b7 rods are thin and flimsy to boost. i was told that z6 rods are too long for the b7 block. any comments on that? i intend to pick up a t3/t4 turbo most likely, unless i find a somewhat smaller trim. i'm not really shooting for an average of 15-17 psi dd, but more like 10psi at peak boost. for chips, how is chrome? i have a p28 that's chipped right now, but i'm not sure of what chip is in it. all i know is it bipasses the fact that i don't have any o2 sensors and doesn't throw any codes. but i intend to install a high flow cat and resonator to my exhaust system. for some reason the cops in upstate new york get automatic boners when they see 20-something year olds in lowered hondas with rims and an exhaust.. hmm??
my main goal is to have this build done by honda day. i wanna take the trip out there and possibly compete in the show. well here's some eye candy.
