Default Differential bearing?

Ok here goes. Installing a quaife LSD into a jdm gsr trans with tapered diff bearings. My question(s) are, what part#/size ball bearings do I use? I searching and getting mixed answers. I'm unsure of the year but since it has tapered bearings, does that mean it is 98 and older? My 99 gsr trans has the enclosed ballbearings. Do I order the bearings for 94-98 gsr? I'm lead to believe the 94-98 gsr bearings are the same as an ls(thinner bearing) and the 99+ gsr are thicker. Does this make sense?

If the LSD is for a GSR, then you will use B18C diff bearings (either ITR or GSR). Year doesn't matter as long as they're ball bearings.

^^ What he said. The ITR or GSR ball bearing will be an offset Ball Bearing which has a raised inner race.

B18C GSR/ITR S80 transmissions with sticker ID S80-3089682 and higher use offset ball bearings OEM# 91005-P80-E31.

The earlier model S80/Y80 before S80-3089682 GSR/ITR will use tapered roller bearings OEM # 91005-P80-003

B16/B18A/B18B use the ball bearings without the offset. You can use these bearings on the later model B18C as long as you install a 70 thous. shim under each bearing. You will also need to change the preload shim to the ball bearing design if changing from tapered roller bearings to ball bearings.
