1990 Civic Ex Build Thread
So I have been a member of HT for a couple years now, just usually used it for info and to lurk I suppose lol. Anyways thought I would post up my current project and it's progress, I will keep it updated as I get stuff done.
I purchased this 1990 Ex about a month ago, and have been cleaning it up here and there..enjoy.

Here are some after a little cleaning and work

Bought it with cut Eg springs on it, thus the way it sits kind of funky

Finished doing the rear molding on the bumper, installed some Matrix slip ons, cleaned up the car some and cleaned the rattle can off of the tail lights/corner

Picked up and painted a un dented functional deck lid, then installed

emblems on

Picked up some wagon sidskirts and front mud flaps, with a little bit of cutting and hardware, makes all four doors look better imo

Best mod yet lol

Washed her, and cleaned the hell out of the interior. Still need to shampoo the carpets I think...
Before

After

Took the pinstripe off thanks to an eraser wheel and also put on oem lugs thanks to a buddy, (unsure of his sn on here) And rear mudflaps installed....
Before in the driveway

And after

Picked up a lip from a Volvo, just a little cutting but almost fit perfectly

Picked up and installed: new passenger fender, rear bumper cover, passenger tail light, passenger corner, and the Ex trunk badge

That's it for now, it is definitely an ongoing project. I finally got it running right last week. Replaced the IAT, o2 Sensor, Coolant temp sensor, and Main Relay....Runs like a dream now. Next up will probably be Koni Yellows and a rear disk conversion....Thanks for looking.

I really like that lip.
What did you use to remove that paint? I have some tail lights I would love to restore just don't want to be sanding down old spray forever.
If you want oem clear bumper lights, take out orange insert and replace bulb with an orange one. This EF is going to end up clean in your hands I see.

Yeah I haven't gotten around to removing that orange piece yet as I still need some covers. I may end up just buying all new ones from egay. And thank you, I think I have cleaned it up or worked on it every day for the last month lol.
So much better!
Thank you for cleaning the lights... that looked terrible.
"Maybe" (I would never do it in a lifetime) on a black or dark color, but white?
What were they thinking?
Plans for paint?
Keeping the red (blaaaahhh - hurrrrllll) interior?

Paint will happen eventually, have been tossing around the idea of doing all the body work and trying a roller paint job....If it turns out like garbage I will have it sprayed. The red interior will eventually disappear as well when/if I can find grey/black interior anywhere, All of the sedans in my area have blue(just as bad as red to me lol) or the red.
Maybe the red... if something else on the car could bring out the color.
Even similar color paint or anodize lip on the wheels would make it work IMO.
Otherwise I get ill looking at red interiors... they are so... so..... so.... -red-.

nice sedan. my dad is using my old mint red interior in his 89 sedan that he painted white. there's an EX sedan maroon with mint maroon interior at the junkyard. any pics of the door panels?
Thanks guys. Should see some more progress here pretty soon if I can get a decent day off of work.
The Interior on this car is pretty flawless aside from a previous owner trying to screw tweeters into the dash. I don't mind the red all that much the seats are just kind of faded and not the most comfortable. I will get some pics up tomorrow.
