Koni/GC Spring Rates
Ok so i know this has been asked before but i just want to confirm before ordering. I have a 98' Civic hatch with 205/50 tires 15x6 GSR wheels, i dont mind a stiff ride, but i dont want to kill my back either after 15 min of driving lol. Id also like to drop it like 3 inches or so, maybe lower this summer. I called up GC and they said that they wont help me until i order them, but im not ordering from them, ahah. I then called THMotorsports and asked them, they said the "usual" 380/450.
So my question is: Who here has the 380F/450R spring rate with koni/GC's and whats the ride quality like? Do you all who own GC/koni's agree with this spring rate?
PS: I plan on getting GC top hats later

Those rates will be fine for your street car - put the softer springs in the rear for better ride comfort... Swap them to reduce understeer (but will soften up the front)

I had 380 lb 8" front springs and 450 lb. 7" rear springs. Ride quality was AWFUL! I was commuting 100 miles a day at that time and I ended up selling them after only 10 months. I was decently lowered (not slammed, see pic below) with OEM top hats and had no problems at all.
If I had to do it again I'd go with 400 lb. 8" front springs and 300 or even 250 lb. 7" rear springs. Although you should get the same spring length if you ever intend to swap them back to front.
So 400/250 is my vote for decent ride quality. I would do that along with the ITR rear sway bar so you don't need a super stiff ride-killing rear spring to help control the rear of the car.

Shouldn't be a problem - 205/50-15 is slightly smaller in diameter than my 205/45-16's you see pictured above. However I perfer 195/50-15 for OEM 15" wheels. Yeah it's smaller than stock blah blah but I like it better.
gotcha. i do plan on getting new tires soon so ill probably go with 195/50-15's then. Hey what kind of rear sway bar would you recommend? I see that eibach has a rear sway bar with all the parts included for like 180$, think i should go with that? Thanks again for the help.
He would than need a subframe brace. Washers for the sway bar. Not to mention, the only "ITR" LCA that will work is F7, and they are $300+. Oh Yea, he'll also need ITR type shocks too.
Also, without a front sway bar, a 22mm in the rear may create a lot of over steer. Something he may not be looking for.
