Default Tranny swap ECU question

If I'm going from a P2U5 transmission in my 95 Accord EX (F22B1) to a P2A8 from an 02 Accord, would I be able to keep my stock ECU?

I would say yes.

My friend on the other 5th gen forum has an F23A in his CD7 Accord with an H22A auto tranny using an F22B1 ECU.

You really should just manual swap though.

It will take just as much effort.

Oh really? haha that's cool... but I do actually have one: I'm hearing from certain places that a dampner is necessary, but from others that it's not. What do you say?

I don't know about that. I think the auto transmission from a 6th gen has more sensors on it than the 5th gen. I don't know if the 6th gen tranny would function properly.

Its not.

I and many other people are running an 8 foot SS clutch line from the clutch master cylinder to the slave cylinder.

Balwin! Another newb question came up haha; is the 5-speed cluster absolutely necessary? Or will the A/T one suffice?
