Default Need some guidance please.

Ok so i got into a fender bender, the person hit me while i was parked....

so i would like to see if i can fix it up myself. Im not looking for perfection here i just want to try and get it looking half way decent. Im thinking something like banging it out with a mallet, then paint? Im new to this so any suggestions on where to start would be appreciated.

Thanks.

What is you experience level with bodywork?

Just fix the dent in the metal, get a new rear bumper cover, and prep/paint.

replace the bumper, and for the quarter panel if you can actually get to the dent on the other side you can use a hammer to bump it out if you dont need it perfect. put the rubber mallet on the other side where your hitting so you dont bump the metal out the other way. just kinda tap the dent with a lil force till its straightened out

LIke others have mentioned, replace the rear bumper for sure. As for the dent, I'd use a stud gun if you can't reach behind the panel to hammer it out. A stud gun is the new skol way of pulling dents, so you don't have to drill holes in the metal, you basicly welding on a cooper stud, then attaching your slide hammer onto it and pulling. Here's a quick video to show you

thanks for the feedback. yeah i believe if i take the wheel off i can get to the dent, prelude1987, thats a great technique but unfortunately i dont have free access to those tools but good thing to know. As for the bumper yeah, ahah it will need to be replaced, i was looking at thepartsbin.com. About 150 shipped, is that good?

Just FYI, I was able to physically go to Certifit store near me and get a new bumper for my Prelude for under $40. You might want to see if you have one of those near you...
