block water jacket leak, FML
I know its not as bad as it could be but damn its so annoying. I discovered a leak in my water jacket near the dip stick on the engine in my blue car. Its just pushing out little droplets on each side of it on the left side of cyl 2 and the right side of cyl 3 (see pic). This engine ran leak free and fine through the second half of 2010, then i just parked it. As soon as freezing weather came i drained all water out(pure water). We had a few "cold nights" but i checked the radiator those next mornings and there was never a sign of even slush, just hovered around low 30's. Drained it, cool sat for a few months until i took it to get some fab work, where i ran the engine for maybe 2 minutes to move it around to its resting spot...without coolant so still at this time i didn't know. I put water in thursday and drove it on the trailer...took it home, then i started doing prep work and noticed water just falling from somewhere....thought it was headgasket but there was no moisture anywhere near it....cranked car and observed the water droplets pushing out on each spot 2 every 3 seconds or so, WTF.
what would cause this...the only thing i know to do is pull out all the manifold and turbo **** and get at it with a wire brush and brake parts cleaner and then heat it up and weld it. Any tips other than that?
Pink represents where i saw water popping out. can't see the crack from the angle in the car that i have at the moment. this block is not mine, just for reference.
