I welded every seam in my bay, not stitch welded, a continuos bead in every seam. I then ground down all the welds and bought evercoat metal glaze. is it ok to use the metal glaze directly on the seam itself? I'm thinking it will be ok since I added so much rigidity welded the seams..or should I have used a sandable seam sealer and then the metal glaze? I'm afraid of cracking but not too sure. opinions?
just to let you know you may have "Added" rigidity but you also have altered the engineering of how your car is supposed to react in a collision. for show purposes, shaving your engine bay may be fine. but you may or may not have compromised your safety in a collision.
either way... i wouldnt use metal glaze right away, that stuff is too expensive and is meant for small pinholes and surface dings. for the engine bay i would use regular bondo and since you're using evercoat. i would recommend one of their rage products. then if u really wanted to, you can put metal glaze as the finishing putty. on top. you possibly could've used sandable seam sealer, but i think bondo is faster.

i would use a filler instead of all metal. A.cheaper B.have you sanded all metal before? pain in the ***. filler will be fast cheaper and still do exactly what you want to do with the metal glaze
