I'm not sure of the construction of that generation ('96-'00 bolt to the sliders), but I'd watch out because the glass assembly seems like it can get a fair amount of suction up there.

Hmm... I'm not sure how much I would trust a normal adhesive. Maybe window weld?
Otherwise I'd just go get a replacement from a wrecking yard.

Urethane for windshields, and i'd take it to a glass shop too there's some prep work involved and I believe they use a primer before the urethane, otherwise i'd just get a replacement sunroof from a junkyard
